When all other options have been exhausted, sometimes the only option left to resolve a drainage issue to conduct a drain excavation. This means gaining open access to the connecting sewer or drain, so the full extent of the issue can be addressed and resolved. Wherever possible LDS look for alternative solutions to excavating floor areas, but there are some instances where it is unavoidable.
Using state of the art equipment our team will first conduct CCTV drain surveys to identify the root cause of the problem. We ensure minimal disruption is caused to your home or business, using our experience to complete the task as efficiently as possible.
Drain excavation repairs are a much more complex task compared to standard drainage issues, and have to be carried out by qualified and skilful professionals to ensure no additional damage occurs to the system or any connecting infrastructures below ground level.
If excavation repairs are needed due to flooding pipes, root intrusion or subsidence, our engineers carry out a thorough site assessment and ensure all health and safety measures are maintained. All materials generated are safely stored before the site is reinstated, the repairs allow the drainage system to perform its task effectively.
If excavation works are not required, in most cases the most a drainage system will require is relining or patch lining repairs. No digging is required for this repair solution, allowing our engineers to focus on certain sections of the pipework that can be repaired to resolve the wider issue.
Drains that have experienced fractures, partial collapse, leaking joints or rooted pipe joints are usually suitable for relining or patch lining repairs. If you need the piping repaired in an emergency, LDS can quickly respond to fix or replace the affected and will look to use no-dig technology (relining) to ensure a speedy resolution.
The process involves installing a lining that bonds to the inside of the pipe. This essentially creates a pipe within a pipe, maintaining the structure’s integrity so it can continue to support the flow of water through the system.
We are able to offer relining on pipes with 100mm diameter up to 1.5-metre culverts. Depending on access and logistics we may also be able to apply relining solutions to single lengths or as a series of shorter, overlapping liners. This is something we can assess on a case-by-case basis. Alternatively, patch liners can be installed in pipes with 60mm diameters up to 1.2-metres in length.
